Canadian Task Force on Preventive Health Care (CTFPHC)
Dr. Thombs has been a member of the Task Force since 2013 and Chair of the Task Force since 2017. The Task Force is an independent body of 15 primary care and methodology experts who advance and support evidence-informed preventive health care in Canada, through the development of guidelines. Task Force guidelines are intended to support health care providers in primary care settings, as well as community and public health professionals, physician specialists, other health care and allied health professionals, program developers, policy-makers, and the Canadian public. Task Force recommendations are based on a rigorous, systematic review and synthesis of evidence.
